What are the different structures of rubber shoe soles?

Types of rubber soles: Rubber soles are divided into natural rubber and synthetic rubber based on raw materials. They are categorized into solid elastomers, latex, liquid rubber, and rubber powder based on shape. Latex is the colloidal form of rubber, while liquid rubber is a low molecular weight form of rubber that is generally a viscous liquid before vulcanization. Rubber powder is produced by processing latex products into a powdered form to facilitate construction mixing and processing techniques. Thermoplastic rubber was developed in the 1960s, which does not require chemical curing and uses molding methods of thermoplastic materials. Rubber shoe material factories are further divided into general types and special types based on their applications.
1. Linear structure: The structure of uncured rubber is linear. Due to the high molecular weight, it does not experience external forces and is penalized by fines. When external forces are applied, the removal of these forces causes changes in the entanglement of fine clusters, leading to continuous rebound of molecular chains, which is the origin of the high elasticity of Chinese rubber.
2. Branched structure: The branched chain aggregates of rubber polymers form a gel. The gel is detrimental to the performance and processing of rubber. During the rubber compounding process, various additives often cannot enter the gel area, leaving components blank, which prevents reinforcement and cross-linking, resulting in weak parts of the product.
3. Cross-linked structure: Some linear molecules are connected by bridging atoms or groups to form a three-dimensional network structure. As the vulcanization process progresses, this economic structure continues to strengthen. Consequently, the active free segments decrease, while the elongation, plasticity, strength, elasticity, and hardness increase, and the degree of compression deformation and swelling decreases.

The key to a good pair of shoes lies in the sole.

When choosing shoes, the first thing everyone looks at is the appearance of the shoes. The overall look and color combination of a pair of shoes are what attract people's attention.
