Processing of EVA shoe soles

In recent years, with the rapid development of the footwear industry, the variety of outsole materials has become increasingly diversified. The traditional solid outsoles made of polyvinyl chloride and rubber, which dominated the footwear industry, have gradually been replaced by the emerging rubber-plastic composite foamed outsoles. Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foamed outsole materials are widely loved for their lightweight and comfortable wear. EVA outsoles have excellent plasticity and good elasticity, making them commonly used in the midsoles of sports shoes. This article focuses on the industry requirements for EVA foamed outsole materials and develops lightweight EVA outsole materials that meet market demand.
EVA outsoles can be "foamed" in several different ways, each introducing bubbles into the raw materials. When the plastic is in a semi-liquid state, the foaming agent can be introduced as a solid. When the mixture is heated, the foaming agent expands and turns into gas, leaving bubbles throughout the plastic. This can be done in large hot presses to produce sheets of material, although these are usually completed using injection molding machines, which compress and heat the EVA outsoles with a hydraulic press before quickly releasing them, allowing the foam to expand. Another method uses EVA pellets mixed with foaming agent particles. The combined components will be compressed in a mold and will slowly cool under pressure.
EVA outsoles are made using compression molding technology. The expanded EVA outsoles, made from foamed material, are loaded into a mold and then placed in a hot press. The bubbles in the foam will expand more, resulting in a lighter and more elastic midsole. It's somewhat like a second cooking of the foam. Nike uses Phylon as the basis for all its Lunarlon technology and pioneered the method of producing dual-density outsoles using this technology.
EVA outsoles may not seem like a charming material, but the foam has made it the foundation of modern sports shoes. The next time you wear a comfortable pair of sports shoes, take a moment to remember our old companion, the EVA outsole, and the extensive family of foams.

The key to a good pair of shoes lies in the sole.

When choosing shoes, the first thing everyone looks at is the appearance of the shoes. The overall look and color combination of a pair of shoes are what attract people's attention.
